So why return to it then? Well, there are aspects of blogging that I like. I enjoy writing, it's good mental exercise. Also the act of putting thoughts into words in the form of an on-line diary can be useful. I like Facebook too but it isn't really designed for much more than a few words (there's quite a lot I don't like about Facebook but that's for another time).
The problem I was having with blogging I think stemmed from trying to specialise in particular subjects. I had a blog for politics, another for my interest in ancient history and so on. This time I'm trying a different approach...one blog covering whatever is on my mind at a particular moment that gets updated whenever I feel like it and have the time. I'll post musings on music, photography, politics, history, radio, cats, or anything else that appeals to me. Or I'll just be damn lazy and link to things I've seen that I find interesting. Postings may be frequent or they may not. By removing the obsessive tendency blogging can generate, it may become fun again.
